TRAINING

In addition to assessment and therapeutic work, I develop and deliver teaching and training to a wide range of audiences on a number of psychology topics.

I enjoy developing interesting, informative, and interactive training and teaching sessions, utilising my knowledge of psychological theory and experience with evidence-based treatment methods and developing collaborative and genuine connections with individuals and families. I incorporate a range of learning methods within my teaching, including engaging visual materials, demonstration and practice, and large and small group work, both online and in person.

For example, I have developed and delivered training to:

  • Mental health trainees (Education Mental Health Practitioners) at King’s College London (KCL) regarding how to support caregivers to address common behaviour difficulties in children and enhance relationships, based upon a treatment manual I developed with my former NHS colleagues;

  • Social care staff at the London Borough of Harrow to learn cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) approaches to support their work with young people at risk of exploitation;

  • Medical professionals with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) about the development of attachment relationships and patterns in young people, and how to use this knowledge to better understand and support families;

  • Social care staff across the United Kingdom to support their understanding of issues such as childhood trauma and working effectively with foster carers;

  • Clinical Psychology Doctorate trainees at University College London (UCL) to support them to work effectively with caregivers using social learning theory to address behaviour difficulties and improve family relationships.

If you have a training opportunity you would like to discuss further, please get in touch.
